you've probably got this solved by now, but I'd higly recommend against making an automated expression for breathing unless you want your character to look mechanical.

haven't thought about using prman.. we use it here at work, but I'm pretty comfortable with maya's renderer, and have been able to get a good look that I like using it and the vector...
