the focus issue can be adjusted with the focal length attribute in the camera attribute window.

The lines may be cause by a couple of things.

One, Your mesh might not be smooth, and the distortions on the mesh are causing shadows.

Two, your lights might not be lighting the entire object. Click each light and select "Look through selected". Make sure that your object is completely within the lights range.

(Remeber to post wire frames of your work if you are having trouble with something. Especially distortion issues.)
