Prefs file?

I have a USB flash memory stick (128Mb) and I would like to put my Maya prefs files on there so that I can move from my workstation to my laptop and any other Maya system and have it use those prefs.

I know that the prefs are stored in "My documents->Maya->5.0" but what is the process for having maya look at a folder on the USB flash?

Thanks in advance.

That'll do donkey... that'll do...

Maya will only look in My Documents\maya\... for your preferences. No way to change that.
