Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

disabled object ?

Hi!
trying to merge vertices but I get an error cannot merge disabled objects.

making a colomn, I xtracted a section so I didnt have to redo the detailing for 8 sections so i duplicated them and now want to atach but it wont let me. user added image

hmmm not sure , is it an instance? try deleting the history etc and doing a polygon>>combine that might help. Post some pics if you can.

Always deleated history, not instaced, its extruded,. havent tried combine, never had the problem before user added image Thanks!
