Can someone help me make an afterburner or propane torch flame similar to this one? I can't seem to get it quite right.
If any of you have seen Men In Black several times, the effect I'm trying to achieve is almost identical to the flames seen on the car when they enter the Queens-Manhattan tunnel. A nice slightly transparent blue jelly-like flame.
Thanks a bunch,
Echo
(Also, I can't seem to download any of the tutorials - even the free ones. Any ideas?)
U could use radiusPP to reduce the size gradualy to a point and add a turbulance to the particles.
(right click on the particle size atributes so you could enter a expression radiusPP=radiusPP-.01) or whatever the cone length you want.
You could also do this with a hardware render setup, multistreaks, color maped over life, turn down the transparency and turn on the color accum. Take it into comp package of your choice, do a few layers with different blurs and erodes etc...and add the layers together. fairly simple way to achieve the effect.
