Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

morph 2 different shapes?

Hi

Just a simple question on blendshapes. Is it possible to morph two different shapes into each other using blendshapes ie a poly model into the same sub-d version on the model where the verticies are different? If not then how could you do such an animation? I would be very grateful for any advice on the subject

Regards

dave

As far as I know, it's not possible.

The only things that come to mind is to use animated deformation and transparancy to fake blending between one object and another.

Other than that, you could painstakenly model the two shapes from the same base shape without adding or subtracting any geometry from both in order to do a blend shape.
