Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

If no one has helped you with this yet.

The white shown on the ramp is not white. It is super white... dun du dun daa..

That is, if you carefully examine the example that has that value, and use the HSV values that are set in it's color ramp, (I don't have maya in front of me, so I can't tell you what they are), then you will get the transition yellow orange and then to black values you are looking for.

Can you relate what the Super White settings are? Is this just available in newer versions of Maya, I can't seem to find it in the help files of Maya 4.5?

I think he means by setting all the hsv colors to white.

Hi!
I think he meant a value greater than 1!
For example when doing lightning you would be a little bit limited to just go between 0 and 1... don't trust the sliders, they only show the default range.
In this ramp there's only the value channel set to something higher than 1...
hope that helps!
