Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

creating Geometry constraints

hullo all-

can you create geometry constraints only in object mode or is there a way to select components (i.e. faces) of a mesh and constrain those?
i've tried but it tells me it is invalid- I guess the problem is that selecting multiple components means that it can't determine which are supposed to be targets and which are supposed to be constrained- is there a way around this?

thanks,
katie

You can select components and create a cluster (animation module > Deform > create cluster).

But, I don't think the entire object will follow, though. If you want to constrain an object at a certain point like that, put its pivot point there.

perfect, thanks mike.

i wanted to put several constraints on the same mesh, so that worked out.
