Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Character Rigging question

Hello.. In the tutorial on Character rigging, Mike's Joint tool had small circles whereas mine has large ones.

May I know how do I make the circles smaller ?

you meen the size of the joints ??

You can set the size of them in the prefrances.

Window > Settings/Prefrances > Prefrances

Categiries:

Disply > Kinematics

set your joint size to something smaller than what you have.

Great Rigging Tutorial Mike but it seems to have stoped at part 6.

Its also very hard to find unless you search for all tutorials by M.Mckinley.

In part 6 you talk about setting driven keys and you will show how in the next part, but I cant find a next part anywhere..

Has this now been dropped ? If so, which tut would you recommend that shows the same sort of thing ..

I want to animate a hand on a Quake 3 character so he can make signs with his fingers. The animation is going to be baked into the vertices as I need to export it to MD3 format. Is it best to use blend shapes for the animation of the fingers or set driven key, so the fingers curl/raise and the hand moves

Cheers

Kurt has a great tutorial on hand control which worked great for an animation i did. Im sure that tutorial will help you if you want to make your character do signs with his hands.
