convert to jpg.

how can i turn my maya stage into a .jpg so i can view it and send it online?

look in the render globals, change the image format in there.

windows > rendering editors > Render Globals > image format

no matter what format it's rendered as, in the Render View, you can File > Save As any format you want, including .jpg.

I my self save to a BMP or other lossless format and thin bring it up in photoshop to save for jpg saving. This way I have more controle over size/quality.

hhaha, thanks all for the input, now when i save the image it should be under render right? in order to change the format?

Under the File menu, when you save it, you can change the format in the saving dialog box.

I agree with pony save as TARGA, BMP or TIF, then open in photoshop and save as jpeg. The end result is much better.
