Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
Ok anyone know a way where i can add more edges w/out forming a crease like in these pictures? I needed to add the lines to make sure they're all quads and cant think of another way to do it except split polygons. BUTTTT doing so this way, gives me creases and faces i dont want w hich messes up the smootheness of my model. It stays even after being smoothed...i cant really convert right because it seems kinda messy etc. Anyhow...anyway i can fix this w/out deleting my edges?
How would I go about making the "wanted" crease in the car w/out having to put in the bunch of lines? Not having 3 lines to curve my edges makes it look really deformed.
Well when i add lines, i make it go all the way across so that it would retain my quads instead of somehow turning into triangles or 5 sided polies. But when i do that, somewhere along the line the creases form and thas what i dont want.
I think you can avoid continuing the line all the way across. N-sided polys, while not good to have too many, shouldn't be too much of a problem if controlled. Smoothing will make everything quads. It's just a matter of playing with the low mesh to control how it gets interpreted when smoothing takes place.
