This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Creating Glass Plz Help me .....

hi guys i m Bilal... i m creating a complete model of my university in maya 4.5 and i m stuck now on creating a glass...transparent glass for doors plz plz plz help me out .......it will be very help ful for me and any help will be appreciated plz...thanx

glass = very high transparency, lowish diffuse, some reflection depending on situation and angle and the glass itself, and refraction of 1.4 (i think for glass but im not sure), you can do a cheap frosted glass with a bump map and refraction blur user added image.

edit: you need a newer version of maya to do refraction blur with mental ray.

Recommend that you use a closed shaped (i.e. a cube) to apply the transparent shader to. This should aide refraction when rendering
