This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Just to specify, I did find a tutorial via Digital Tutors for a cloth simulation.. to make flag flap in the wind.. which would be cool, but I already modelled a nurbs plane.. and I was wondering if anyone knew, without using the cloth system how to contrain one end, while the other flaps.. everytime I attach any dynamics to my object it blows away.. lol
I havent tried this but this is what is coming to my head.
you would need to make the plane a soft body and than apply a turbulence field to it. This should get you going. apply constraint so it will stick to the pole. You may need to paint weight attributes for the softbody so it wiggles more on the end of the flag than the part that is attached to pull.
