Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

For the Nose, go into vertex mode and check to see if you have any extra vertices in these areas.

The mouth has a five sided poly that's why.

Hope this helps.

On the bottom of his chin there could be more vertices, just that they are close together. So what may appear to have four sides could actually have more . . well that's my guess. Go into vertex mode and select around the chin area and hit the delete. Even though things don't appear to change you may delete the extra vertices.

On the top of the head you have an eight sided poly, you need to stick to fours where possible.

Hope this helps.

ya it sure helped for the chin..

and for the top part im not really understanding the 8 sided polygon

i tried splitting some of the polys and it still did the same thing .. im not really sure what to do to make it 4 sided

You will need to look at some other meshes so as to get an idea of different techniques of building this sort of model. I've never built a head so I'm not the best person to help you. You will need to split and move vertices around until you get four sided polys throughout most of your model. Hope this helps.
