Newbie, need help

hi guys.
as i sad, i'm new here and need help with rendering. the problem is that the pic got a very low quality and i don't know how to make it look betteruser added image you may know what the problem is, i think it's the standard settings. plz help me.

In the Maya Software tab of your render globals, and set the Quality to "Production Quality".

That should help.

ok.. i have changed to "Production Quality" but i can't see any difference.

I think i'm stupid, I used "IPR render" and i think i just have to use "render" and now it looks better. right?user added image thanks!

K, I'm stupid. Whenever I render something, the shadows never appear. I have shadows turned on in the lighting tab too....

I think mental ray should fix all that up nicely. But, I understand where your problem was pixel, glad you fixed it.

mental ray is a tool that can be used like any other. The maya software renderer can give you great results too. Don't just turn on FG and hope that it looks ok user added image

thanks, now i know how to render a frame and save it lika a .jpg file. but i don't know how to render a movie clipuser added image could someone help me, plz?
