This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
I''m trying to attach a beveled text to a circle curve so that it will read like a ring of text. How do I attach these? Would it be easier to attach the text curve(s) to the circle curve before I bevel? Any help would be appreciated
Im lost on these two, animation paths and bend deformers. I wish there was an easy way to do this, ARGH! Does anyone know if I can just project multiple curves that are grouped together, onto specific surfaces or faces?
There is a tip on deformers in the Tips & Tricks threat in Maya chat, beyond that use the help file and look up the terms. If you still don't get it, than come back and explain what it is that isn't clicking for you.
You can also search this forum for text, bends, etc.

I want to etch a font into the surface of a ring, like one that you would wear on your finger. I'm kinda new to Maya, so I dunno, really what my next step would be to apply the text curves to the surface of the ring. I don't know how to bend the text font so that it matches the circle of the ring. how should I "etch" it into the ring? Trim tool? Should I even be beveling the text at all?
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, your my only hope.
