I've spent most of my day today trying to find the coordinate entry field in Maya 7. I'm new to Maya, so I'm quite inexperienced. I've got a tutorial book based on Maya 6.5 where it says:
"Click in the coordinate entry field
which is located just above the
Channel box on the right side of the
workspace."
well... it isn't.. at least not in Maya 7 or at least not in my case :/ I've searched the internet, asked around, and stuff, but no luck. can someone please help?
i'm doing the first lesson in Alias' Learning Maya book. "bouncing a ball".
I'm trying to move the pivot from the center of the ball to ground level.
I could do it with click+drag the vertical axis, but I want to be as precise on the tutorial as I can be. who knows, maybe I'll need it later.
Here are some pics from the book if it helps you:
ah.. ok, this is in the status line (main menu bar), it's the field all the way to the right before the channel box/attributes editor/tool attributes icons. It may not say "abs" due to the current selection. Might be "rel" "sel" or "ren" or something like that as the field has four different uses depending on which is selected. Click the drop down arrow and switch it to "abs."
