I didnt mange to open the file due to a version issue - is this file a Maya 6.5 file?

By the looks of things, does it not delete if you

right-click, [Face]
select the single face
delete?

So what does happen when you try and delete that single face? Come to think of it, can you even select that face on its own?

Does the script editor have anything to say when you try and delete the face?

open hypergraph, select the mesh, then graph the input/output connections. delete the "subTessshape1" node. Problem solved?
