Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

you could probably do with spending a lot more time on the texturing though, adding dark areas, highlights and similar. Reference images might have areas that you could borrow.

I would suggest adding fur to it, low poly style. A few large tris added here and there with transparancy other than a few hairs drawn on each one. Well, maybe it wouldnt look too good, but its worth a try if you have spare time.
