This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
fisrt off get rid of your hdri sphere use what maya gives you
go to render settings under "common"scrole to bottom turn off default light
then go to "mentalray" tab scrole down to "image based lighting" hit create button then in attrib editor you will be taken to "mentalrayIblShape1" load your hdri image then do quick render if to dark go back to "mentalrayIblShape1" look for "color gain" click the col swatch and type in the "V" something like 1.400 try a render that should brighten it up {tweek this as much as needed to get your brightness} tweek away all you like to improve the image in FG/aa quality anywere else ya like ..............oh i added a blinn to the floor turned up incandesance a little bit also again you tweek as ya like
