This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Hi, Can anyone suggest ways of creating a flickering light effect? Im trying to create a small camping light but i guess an effect of a candle flicker would work. How would i go about this?
this one is really tricky to get through maya's UI. I suggest asking this to someone who can work a bit of MEL magic, I dont know MEL so I can't really help.
So something like... LightShape1.intensity = rand(0.5,1.5); ??
what kind of light do you think would be best? i was thinking a point light, but it seems to create quite a harsh light and the ambient light lights up a bit too much of the area....
you should never really use ambient lights for lighting as they flatten out the scene by not casting shadows etc and thus applying even light everywhere (they suck ) put decay on your point light and it wont be so harsh. remember to compensate for the decay in the intensity value by pushing it up e.g. 5.
