Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

bmw car

a model done for school work.
its not accurate, the tires are not the right make
the proportions are a bit squashed because of the shrunken refs i used. modeled in about 4 days, shading/rigging took 3 days. done for animation.
render with Mental ray.

well its not as good as dilbert's but its still very good. I see no problems apart from the ones you already said- plus it was done in 7 days! user added image

Maybe its a bit too glossy, bt apart from that its very good

Damm good work man for 7 day's, think i'd need about 70!!, and another 70 to get all the details spot on!

One question?

Do you need a new mouse after that??? probably worn out from the heat due to the friction??

Was it moddled in maya or XSI as i've picked up your a fan of it? At uni we've got a stripped down version of XSI that came with the Avid Editing suite called Avid 3D (or I think its a stripped down version as thres not much room for rendering options just preview, good and best)

Cheers

probably less since we had a day off for american holyday 2 weeks ago [president day] .user added image

only the tire was made in xsi. everything else was maya.
the objective was not a great model, but rigging/animating.

not sure about avid 3d.
it could an even stripped version of SI3d [b4 xsi]
