Joints and the Ground Plane

Sup All user added image

I’ve just started learning how to use bones in Maya but I’ve got a rather annoying problem in that I’m finding it very trick to stop the feet of my character going though the floor Is there a way I can tell Maya not to let the joints below the ground plane?

you might think about using Inverse Kinematik. have you had a look at ik yet?

I’d love to use IK’s which is what I’ve used b4 but I’m doing this for a uni project and my tutor doesn’t want us it use them user added image
