Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Ummm, I suggest that you work on the modeling more before you get to the UV-ing/texturing.

Not that the model is bad, it is good user added image but you can work on the mouth area, define the shell boundaries, define the legs more... etc.

And if you choose to go ahead anyway- I don't like the texture for the body, if you have Photoshop I suggest that you take your UV layout, put it in Photoshop, and then get a ton of pictures of turtle shells and maybe warp them or paste, blend ETC onto the map.

That's what I can suggest, and- don't make the horns shiny and reflective, please, it makes the overall picture look bad.

Try to make them a diffuse yellow-ish or whatever color-ish color you want and make a bump map.

hey

thanks for the good advice MattTheMan user added image and yes i totally agree with everything you said. i am at the moment doing a bit more modeling on it to the face as well as defining the shell and under belly to make it look a bit better. And yes the colour is rubbish (but it was just a test to see what it would look like) i will definentally try to use UV's although so far i find it very difficult and teadious just to map it out.
but i guess that skills comes in time

Hey, i like the model so far. I think that with the mouth you should make it less straight. It looks like he is holding an invisible brick in his mouth cause the edge is very straight.
Good work though user added image
