Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

can some1 help?

i've got a question, i started yesterday on this model, (i'm a newbie, so it doesn't look that good) but i encountered a problem.
whenever i go to frame 231 (the frame where step 22 should start) and i reset step 1 to zero, it doesn't move on 2nd run and moves faster in 1st run.
so can some1 help me get the 1st step back into position at frame 231 (and going up again, that way i'll get a nice animation) without destroying the speed of the object.

please help!!!

i'm still trying to fix it, but haven't got any further.
i had to deliver the working escalator so i made the uv curve round and created a whole bunch of new stairs so at least it's "good".
but i'm still wondering if there's a way to do it?
can some1 still help?

and mess around with other settings.

Have a look at the animation using the graph editor, you can select the keyframes and move them as well as adjusting the values of the animation.

You should be able to see the problem using that as you'll probably be after a straight line increasing in value (if you used rotation as the driver for the steps), but you should be aboe to see the problem and adjust it to suit.

Yeah most definatly the Graph Editor its under Window->Animation Editors->Graph Editors. If you dont know how to use it the Help menu has a great tutorial on how.

well, that aint the biggest problem, the problem is that i need to loop the animation, but not as a whole but just the first 21 steps

u could create an animation and set the frames from where the steps reach the end or create more steps so the animation goes on for longer. Then select some frames from the middle of the animation and then loop the animation.
I haven't done that tutorial. If i had my advice would probably be better. but i hope this helped(a little)
