This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Need help

Hi,

I have a question regarding saving rendered scenes and animations to a drive other than my c drive with is where maya is currently installed at the moment. I am used to 3dsm where I can specify the drive I which to save it to. I have a seperat drive created exclusivly for art projects yet I cannot save any rendered animations to anything other than my c drive.

Is there a way to save it to a different drive or must I reinstall maya on the drive I wish my projects to be saved in?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey man
You just go to file, project, set, then select a folder you want your render scenes to be in. When you batch render, everything will go in there.

well the best thing to do is always when you first start a project is to set the location where it can be save ..you can still do it now ....just go to

Select File > Project > New.

Type the name of the project in the Name text box.

Click Browse to select where to save the Project folder.

you can use Defaults at the bottom of the window to fill in the usual project sub-folder names.

then go to

Select File > Project > Set.

Select the main folder of the project to store everything

To change where the project stores different types of files. also used if you already have files working on and need to change where it saves then

Select File > Project > Edit Current.

Edit the paths of the files you currently have

and then go to

Select File > Project > Set.

Select the main folder of the project to store everything

hope that helps
