Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

How to i move my charicter directly onto the origin point? Also, after i have done that how do i make sure that the spine bones are exactly in the middle?

most people use snap to grid for those things... while moving your character, press and hold x to snap to the grid... assuming your character's pivot is still centered, you can move the character along the gridlines until it's aligned correctly.

for the bones, use the same method... while drawing/making them, hold x and they'll snap to the grid as well, ensuring that they're not off to the left or right.
