newbie attempting spitfire

i want to make spitfire model that looks almost photorealistic

im kinda new so i dont know what the best approach would be to even start this...i need help with the lighting and making the backround look good with the plane.

Well, theres tons of tuts on SM about planes so they should help. I think you should find a few more reference pictures, as you don't know what the rear, side or top look like.

There happens to be a spitfire tutorial at SM now.
