Press 5 to go into Shaded Mode. Maya aways starts a new project in Wireframe.

Seriously check out the free basic tutorials that come with maya, you press alt and move the mouse to rotate the camera

thats quiet a leap, from remapping keys to asking how to rotate the viewer to no quicktime beginners movies?? that is a riddle??

take it easy , one thing at a time. best look at the help files if your quicktime doesn't work, it is very well laid out and easy to read.

help files.., under HELP!
