What is he using

look at this video of a nuke in maya. how dose he do this. i really would like to know. and i know about the fluid effects visor but look at his other maya videos in his profile they have somthing to do with particle emittors, or something and i need to know how he gets sound into his video with the shock wave and everything. thanks

P.S. i am still using maya 6.0

theres a free tut amongst the tuts here called 'ring of fire ' that will give you the shock wave,.. the explosion is a lesson on its own .., the sound was probably put and synced in with a video editor like FCP or Premier.., theres a lot of ways to put the sound in.., you could use 'windows movie maker.'

you are asking a lot here, someone would have to point you to a tut or spend a lot of time explaining it to you.

Looks to me like its fluids for the explosion and the blast close to the core and then particles for the ring that hits the camera.

There was a tutorial for making a nuke in maya in 3d world, it might have gone onto their downloads section, check out computerarts.co.uk

some of the smoke effects could be 'motion' 'shake' 'AE'..ect

the audio is definately outside the maya environment.., too much reverb.

think that the flash would have probably been done in post production (well thats the way I would do it) via a keyed lense flare, facing the camera

You could also keyframe a spotlight or similar to acheive that result, but as steve stated it easier in post.

The dust from the desert is just simple particle dynamics, it will be set at keyframe or an expression has been used to get them to start reacting

The second one down is Collision Emission, and will give you a smal understanding on how to use them.
