Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Making a fireball

I am trying to make an animated fireball with the fire effect. It works quite well, except when the fireball moves quickly, the ball itself does not stay on fire, it more of leaves a firey trail behind it. How can I fix this? Does anyone have a tutorial?

Thanks!

You'll more than likely want to have several effects on the ball, some just on the ball itself, and some to indicate the trail.

Just use fluids (obviously if you have Unlimited) theres a simple tutorial over that the area by Duncan Brinsmede (think thats how you spell it) When you get into them there not sobad for creating these types of effects.

Heres a pic that I made using the method but changing some bits about to get it how I wanted.
