Autodesk Maya 8.5 Service Pack 1

Do you recommend installing it? It may help me with some fatal errors I'm getting while modeling. I just want to make sure it wont **** anything up.
BTW, how can I see what updates I've got? I can't see anything about it in Help>About. does it mean I don't have it?

Should be fine, It didnt change anything with my install when I had it (menus, scripts etc etc were all fine).

Not too sure how to find out what you've got, I actually think it says in the desktop icon when its installed.
