Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

anti aliased edges

Hello,

Maybe a very silly question but I am new to Maya. I have a simple nurb sphere with no texture but with a spot light at the top of it. I am actually playing with it but whenever I render the still image I see very anti aliased edges of the sphere, I thought I would see smooth edges but even if I render it 1k and open the tiff file in phtshp the edges are not smooth just like a pixelated non crisp edge.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal or I am doing someting wrond.

Thanks so much,

A.

Look int render options.
I assume you're using Maya software render?
The default options are good enough for previews only...
there should be an anti-aliasing box in the Maya software tab. increase the settings there.

When in doubt, delete history and freeze transformations.
