Help please

Hi all,

I need urgent and quick help please.

I searched the net many times but still not very sure of what to do.
I am learning Maya and 3dmax and use some adobe applications in my work.
I am facing three offers for the new system I'll be buying.
So I ended up with 3 different graphic cards in the local market to chose from.
For some reason, it has to be only one of these cards:

1- Gigabyte GeForce GTX280 1GB DDR3
2- Gigabyte ATI 4870 X2 2GB DDR5
3- Gigabyte GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB DDR3

The rest of the setup is as follows:

- Intel i7 920 CPU
- Intel X58 extreme MotherBoard
- 4GB DDR3
- 1000 GB HDD
- Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 Case
- Gigabyte Power supply 800 watt
- Gigabyte Liquid Cooling system Galaxy II
- HP HDMI 22 inch LCD Monitor

So, regardingless the price, which one is best for my work? Especialy for 3D applications.

Choice 1 and 2 are good, I'd say go with choice 1 because ATI cards may have compatibility issues with Maya (that was the case, I don't know if thats STILL the case).

I was thinking of getting this

Intel Xeon X5345 - 2.33 GHz
RAM : 4 GB
Nvidia Quadro FX3450

or

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 2.4 GHz
RAM : 2 GB
Nvidia Quadro FX1700

Both are around the same price and both have rather small HDs (160GB) although i have an external HD for now.

Which is better for render times?

I assume the FX3450 is the better graphics card, but i'm pretty clueless about all this. :headbang:

Not too sure on the render times Hammer, I would possibly go for the Xenon, if its a quad.

Just as you have the added RAM that will help you out.

Are ther enot any i7's in your range as there pretty damm quick.
