that seems a bit odd, you could turn off smooth UVs in the smooth node? I would suggest you avoid automatic mapping, it's a bit crap. The reason being is that you get all those tiny random bits like you have there. Another thing you need to do is have all your uvs in the top right box.

ok thx i will try it when i get off work, one last question if i make my own theme to put on my models how big should i make them in photoshop?
