Complex UV Layout in Maya

Animate Menu is Missing!

On videos and in help I see numerous mentions and pictures of Animate on the menu bar. But when I open up Maya 2009 to try to add position markers to a motion path I can't find it. Sure I have the animation tab below but the Animate menu option is gone. Is there any sort of option that hides it?

Are you in the animation menu set? F2, I believe...

Or if that's not the problem, go to Help > Find menu item... or something similar to that. (Tip from elephantinc recently I think it was)
