Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

maya visor

hey guys i was wondering, does anybody know any good places to read up on the maya visor, or tutorials on how/and in what situations to use it. for instance im trying to create a jungle themed space, and i noticed the visor has some nice trees and .mel scripts for water etc. but im not clear on how to use them.

The visor is just a place that Maya uses to store presets of various mel scripts, pfx brushes, dynamic caches/setups etc.

If you right click on one of the images in the visor it will give you options along the lines of 'import whatever.mel/ma' or 'apply brush' (eg. import an example file/preset or use a paintFX brush)
