Welcome to Free Fridays on Simply Maya!

Every week we'll be adding a new free tutorial to this section of the forum (the first one being delayed a few days by Christmas). We'll be covering all the different fields of Maya here and we just kicked this off with MEL Scripts & Modeling - Creating a Golf Ball with GeoSphere by ctbram. Enjoy user added image

Nice shadows is one of those things that come with good light design though, there isn't really a script. The best thing to do is make real world observations of what motivates different types of shadows and use good photographic references to try and replicate this in 3D. Have a look at this;
