texturing and rendering for two aircraft

hey not really in need of help more just advice and tips, i have modelled a spitfire and a Eurofighter typhoon for my university project and i am trying my best to make them photo realistic, everything is ready for texturing im just wondering if any of you guys have advice on good textures or techniques and especially advice on setting up a good render.

All depends on the final shot, I assume it will be an external? Probably the best and most direct would be MR sun and sky though you might need to adjust the gamma of the texture nodes. On the texturing it depends on the size in shot, make sure toy have a bump in there if its close up and make sure that your textures are 2xres of the largest size of the object in screen. Also for a plane an AO pass layerd in comp would help with bringing out detials of the model.
