Thanks guys and no worries about taking over the thread... its great to have your input. I didn't think it would be such a hard/difficult or not straight forward thing to do, animating two separate tracks around 8 wheels. I know you are both 'tank men' so if any one knows how to...

I am with ctbram on the youtube thing... so many 'so called' tutorials on there it is hard for us guys who are still learning to now which ones are good and which are bad... only by trial and error! and I've done a few of those bad ones with the tracks,
Dave thanks for the links, I will give the last one you sent through a go, that looks the most comprehensive.
cheers guys

Just a rough to show the way I was thinking of going with this. I've distorted the cab with a bend deformer and squashed the wheels and tracks (those damn tracks!!!) with a lattice to get the 'rearing up' look. The dust and the quick motion blur is photoshop at the moment, just to give me an idea of what my final image may look like. Still want to add those cartoon mountains in the background.

Dave: I am still going to give the track tutorial you sent a go, wanted to get this idea out of my head first

First draft of Sarg. I don't intend to animate him so I've modelled him with his mouth open and in that pose. Still need work but you get the idea.

I like the way you modelled him just enough polys to get the job done, if at a later dater date you want to animate him you could do some blend shapes..............dave

Cheers ctbram. user added image I've added them and some rocks to the 'wheelie' popping one and some rocks to the background. Still need to do the dust, I am thinking about modelling the dust clouds because I feel it will fit in better with the cartoon look.
Cheers
