Camera clipping issue? or not...

basically I have a ring of cylinders mapped with bg plates of different parts of the scene. I'm working at a pretty large scale but I've always just been able to adjust my camera's clipping to compensate for scale issues. This time, as you can see, the cam travels backwards and loses elements of the scene, despite any changes I make to clipping. ideas?
