Luxo Jr

This is my Luxo Jr WIP from Pixar. I made this because of Danny and Mike here! (they know why user added image ) but anyway.. in my oppinion, this "10 minute job" went to about 8:30am the next morning for me (4:30 hours)..

I still need to do the cable in the back, the light switch on it's head, and for God's sake, could somebody tell me how to do the openings for the ventilation in the top of the lamp near the light switch?? user added image user added image

tell me what you think!

looks really nice. are you putting a skellington in to make it animatable? i like the lighting of it. but i think the outside of the lamp is too reflective, the inside is great user added image

I might put a sceleton as I want to play with animation a bit!

about the reflectivity, the object itself does not have any at all... maybe it's because I have RayTracing on

user added image...

I just figured out how to do the air holes in his head..

I had to revolve it as a poly instead of nurbs, then I used the split poly to cut them..

now... I'm trying to follow the "how I did it" tutorial by undseth about the nurbs cables but I'm getting some REALLY messedup looking things...

Idon't like booleans... but I got it w/o them anyway user added image

here is an update to Luxo... I think I"m pretty much happy with it so I plan to animate it user added image

Changes: added power cable, light switch, and the airvents. took off ray tracing because it was making it too reflective...

tell me what you think!
