Project curves on polygons?

Is it possible to project curves on polygons? The project curves tool seems to only be for nurbs.

If it is not possible, then does anyone have any other ideas on how to make wire mesh to fit inside a car grille/outlets?

actually they added the ability to project curve onto to meshes in maya 2012 and up.

it's under edit mesh> project curve as I recall. Be very careful though it is going to create terrible geometry

^^ Thanks four your help. That worked out.

But is it possible to delete part of the ep curves I know have projected on the mesh, as it ended up being partly outside of its intended area?
