Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Is this normal?

Hey everyone,

Is it normal for the edges of the models to be jagged like this?

Or am I doing something wrong in the modeling?

I guess the images don't show them as much......... in the top image, you see the rocket wing with the long shape, on the right side? If you look carefully at the shape on the wing, you can see its edges being jagged.

That's just your realtime display. Nothing to worry about, that is how is usually looks unless you have anti aliasing turned on in viewport 2.0

normals might be reversed, try selecting the faces and reverse them or just delete the faces that are being evil and re-create them
