Grass is starting to look pretty good there
Most likely cause is you forgot to turn on nearest point on mesh plugin.

Hi David, That's exactly what my problem was! It must have turned itself off overnight cause it was going fine the first day. Thanks for helping me out.
I also noticed that the grass textures are out in the render I posted so I must have forgotten to re-uv them.

Ok, another problem. I'm working at creating the first bush and I'm connecting up the reverse node and luminance node to remove the black background (part14 19:53) but when I go to connect the luminance node to the leaf material by linking the outvalue to the cutout_opacity I get a message telling me that Maya has unexpectedly stopped working and needs to close. I've tried three times and I can't get past this problem.

Hang on, it seems that I accidentally deleted my physical sun and sky (during one of the crashes probably) and after recreating that it let me link the nodes that I wanted.

No good, no sooner have I said that that Maya brings up the same message and crashes now it crashes as soon as I open the file! So I have effectively locked myself out of my file
Below is a pic of the script editor which has two errors. I'm not sure if they are what's causing the problem.
Also I've attached my scene if someone wants to see if they can get into it.

Hmm i hate to say this but have you tried a restart ? The file opens just fine for me and the two warnings are certainly nothing to worry about. I've saved the file out for you try opening this one.
Let me know if you can open this one ok.

Yes I have tried a restart but that didn't do any good. I can open the new_bush file but as soon as I try to take a render of it, Maya quits.
I'm assuming you can render my file on your machine?

Still not having any luck with sorting out my issue so I've moved on to the second bush. Just wondering if can get my hands on the textures that are used (leaf_back_yellow_4x4.tif, leaf_bump_yellow_4x4.tif and leaf_front_yellow_4x4.tif) as they didn't come with the download. I like to use the tutors files first before I go and start creating my own.
