This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
As I am following the excellent new tutorial "Interiors and Furniture" I run in to a problem with Maya. When I select an object and go to Vertex-mode, there vertices don't show. I can select the vertices and move them around, but neither the pink(unselected) or the yellow(selected) vertices show, which makes the process very difficult. The object looks as if "Face"-mode would be on. Did I simply unclick something?
I've tried Display>Polygons>Vertices and resetting Preferences. Did not help.
I then checked "Multisample Aliasing", the vertices came back. But at the same time another strange thing happened, Vertices also show on several other objects that I haven't selected. They are not grouped or anything and I'm then able to select vertices on the other objects as well. Something fishy going on. Any idea?
The problem with vertices disappearing if I check Multisample Aliasing appears in other scenes as well.
The other issue with vertices showing on unselected objects hasn't happened other than in this particular scene.
