New here , where to post doubts about choosing computer

Hi there ,
Im new here i dont know where to put this question in the forum

I used to play with maya few years ago and im trying to comeback to it
I learned and work on it on a laptop for some time so i know the challenge that it is to do it vs to a proper computer and screen but with my life i dont have that option , so ill got to go with a lap top and after all my life with pc im trying to change to mac i got hooked on its simplicity and design with my everyday with iphone
Am i daydreaming on trying to go with a mac air?
im not a professional so i was thinking on that to help me restart my passion
Im considering its wheight portability design simplicity and battery capacity
I read that the mac pro with the retina doesnt work that well with most 3d softwares
And for the beggining and restart of playing with maya the air was more than enough for now because i dont see myself rendering a short movie animation soon,
First i have to get used to it and many hours of remembering what i once knew user added image and have some fun doing it
Thanks for your time reading long text.
So mac air or pro?
