Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Annoying Center Point locator

in Maya 2016 and i think 2015 , Autodesk added a little blue center point locator to the move and rotate tools when you have heads up display on. Does anybody in the name of all that is good in this world know how to turn this off ? or as a workaround maybe toggle the HUD on and off ?

I don't see it with the rotate, and it doesn't seem to be related to the HUD for me either. According to: https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL...E-608822336A9D
"A single dot has been added to the center of the Move Tool manipulator to assist with precise transformations."
What's annoying about it?

Quote "A single dot has been added to the center of the Move Tool manipulator to assist with precise transformations."

Except its not a single dot it's a symbol that is way too big ..lol
if you have the Hud on it sits at the origin so its not totally associated with the translate tools.

It gets in the way sometimes Stewart when you are trying to make zoomed in selections of components when you want to really get in tight.
Also i have found that with my card which is a Quadro by the way, it arbitrarily decides to stay in a location and only decides to move when it's good and ready.
I generally hate the damn thing and want it gone ..lol

Can you get a screenshot? That doesn't sound normal.

i made a workaround by scripting the HUD to toggle, but here is what i am talking about and i simply want to turn the blue center point off.
I cant believe Autodesk hasn't made this toggle but it looks that way.

Okay, I've never seen that before. The little yellow pixel in your last couple images are what I'm talking about. I've played around with various display options, but I can't find this funky blue thing. What do you have showing under Display > Heads Up Display?

Stewart its not directly connected to heads up but it does go when all heads up properties and off. it also appears if i use the bonus tool display controls.

You actually helped Steward because you made me understand that it was not Maya but something external so thank you .
