Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Blood cells

I want to animate some blood cells moving down a vein, so how do you turn your blood cell model into a particle to immit from an imitter?

Hit F1 on your keyboard, and do a search for paticle instancing.

Theres a pretty good explanation thereuser added image

That's how you would do it.

(I'm not in front of Maya right now, so that's why I suggested the maya docs) user added image

instancing allows you to create particles, control them, make em flow down ur blood vein or whatever with collisions and etc
then instancing will replace the particles with objects you modelled user added image ie. ur blood cell

Niice, now all you need is a bit of distortion to the things (like cracks).. and then a good overlay.. of noise or something... good job user added image.

there wudnt be anything wrong with it, but if you have a slow computer, watch out, try to make ur model as simple as poss in terms of polys
