wireframe/shaded

hi i was wondering if anyone would know how to produce an
image that was half wireframe and half shaded. i dont think you could do this in any one product but could someone help with the procedure, say a wireframe render and a shaded render of the same object combined somehow in photoshop.

ta.

I'm not a expert but if you have both renders, same size and camera position and place then in layers in photoshop and cut one in half you have it. Then you could use some other filters/tools to blend then.

I'm sure Izzy or one of the pros has a better way. I'd like to know how you can achive that merging effect.

Yeah, but no but yeah but no....

Do a hardware render of the scene in Maya, in wireframe mode.Keep the multi-pass options checked to 3.this way you'll get a smooth wireframe render.

Take the image into photoshop alongside your final rendered colour image.

Open the wireframe render and paste it onto another layer in photoshop above your colour render.
Now you can erase the parts that you dont want so that it looks 50/50.

tip : Try using the different layer modes in photoshop like screen, multiply, add. overlay etc.
